About

My name is Ronan and I have been living in Dublin for almost 20 years now. I love my food, be it cooking for it, shopping for it (yes I love grocery shopping), eating out, the super cooking of my mates or even cooking & eating at home. Food, food, food. And its the greatest bug bear of my friends that I eat and don’t put on weight. So despite my skinny appearance, what’s in this blog is all true. 🙂

I decided to try improve my cooking skills after watching a documentary series called Chefs Table and in particular the first episode about Massimo Bottura in Modena, Italy and the story behind his amazing restaurant – Osteria Francescana. It literally spurred me on to learn more about food and cooking. (It has 3 Michelin Stars and was rated second in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants by Restaurant magazine in 2015). Who wouldn’t want to try even one of his amazing dishes?

OK, so just to be clear at this point, I am not angling to open my restaurant or get a Michelin star (but never say never), I just simply love food.

A couple of years back I did a digital marketing postgrad and as part of that I had to create a blog for an end of year project. I enjoyed it at the time but found it hard to maintain when I wasn’t involved in that world on a daily basis.

So here I am, doing a course again, about something I love – again – so I decided to blog about it for the duration. Not quite Julie & Julia but its good to be busy 🙂

So this blog, for however long it lasts, will be my diary about all things food related that I cross paths with and want to share. (Don’t stop asking me to dinner lovely friends – I won’t critique you if you don’t want me to).
